DNA deep-dive: ReBOTL, what is it?
In the modern day, we're fortunate enough to rock clothing and lace-up goodies that aren't as bad for the environment as before - they're eco-friendly on occasion, and even sustainable! So, the topic at today's heart is ReBOTL, Timberland's green technology carved from extremely light, durable and breathable recycled plastic bottles. Wanting to learn more? Follow the blog below! In order to get ReBOTL off the ground, Timberland process used PET bottles for material production - so, in each Timberland style marked with ReBOTL you'll find between six and 10 plastic bottles that once resided shelf-side. So, over 300 million plastics have been used by Timberland since 2009; quite the title when you think about it. When a specific part of Timberland footwear is made from ReBOTL, it means that 50% of that style is made using those pesky PET bottles. In fact, since 2019 90% of Timberland shoes have contained at least one element of ReBOTL textile. Magic!
